Wonderful and friendly staff. Food is very high quality and seafood is very fresh. Definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants in the city.

Took my family to Syu and we all found the food and service to be exceptional. The decor and vibe felt very Japanese, which isn’t a given at otherwise solid restaurants in Metro Vancouver that serve the same cuisine. The value for money was also quite a bit better than expected, in my opinion.

Was expecting to go for omakase dinner but didn’t know we need to reserve in advance. So we just ordered ala carte Everything was great. Highly recommend the slow cooked rib, beef and foie gras roll.

The sashimi on the chirashi don was really fresh and the rice was fluffy! The unagi don also was perfect. There was tamago below the unagi and it was the right amount of sweetness in the sauce to complement the unagi. Service was very attentive as well!
